Recognition-Reflection Framework

The Recognition-Reflection Framework was developed during a master’s research project in special education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2025. It brings selected concepts from Axel Honneth’s theory of recognition into relation with Anne-Lise Løvlie Schibbye’s relational dimensions of recognition in a conceptual matrix for structured reflection and qualitative analysis.

The framework was initially developed within pedagogy and special education and may also be explored in other professional and institutional contexts. Broader applications should be regarded as conceptual extensions rather than empirically validated uses.

Version 3.0 expands the theoretical foundation, clarifies the conceptual combination, adds bibliographic references, and specifies the proposed scope and epistemic status of the framework.

Published to establish a citable public record and contribute to ongoing scholarly dialogue and development.
